Kim Anderson

COLUMBUS/ COTTAGE GROVE – Kimberly Kay Anderson, age 33, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 15, 2003. She was born on September 30, 1969, in Madison, the daughter of LeRoy and Jean (Cox) Anderson. Kimberly was a graduate of Monona Grove High School in 1987. She loved animals especially horses and dogs. Kim raised, bred, trained, and groomed Labrador retrievers. She was affectionately known as ‘Dr. Kim’ and had worked at Fitchburg Veterinary Clinic for many years. Kim took part in many horse shows receiving many ribbons and trophies. She had taught many family members how to ride including her son Dallas at the age of three. He was a natural. When she smiled her face lit up the whole room. She had a lot of spunk. She is survived by her son, Dallas James Anderson, age four at home; a very special dog, Bindi Sue; her parents, Warren, and Jean Hardin of Cottage Grove; maternal grandparents, Kenneth (Lena) Cox of Boulder Colo.; sisters, Renee Harris of Avoca, LeEllen (Todd) Jordan of Oregon, Tammy (Tom) Jordan of Cottage Grove, Teresa (Steve) McNeill of Beaverton, Ore., and Laurie (Mark) Halzel of Stoughton; brothers, Robert (Virginia) Hardin of McFarland, Edward (Tonya) Hardin of Appleton, and James Hardin of Cottage Grove; a brother-in-law, Fred Wruck of Goldsboro, N.C.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and a special friend, Sheila Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy; a sister, Barbara Wruck; her maternal grandmother, Bessie Cox; paternal grandparents, Willard Anderson, and Cecile Nelson. Funeral services will be held at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3702 County Trunk Highway AB, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2003. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2003, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers a trust fund for her son Dallas will be established at a later date. ‘She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.’
